As per norms, Entries for All India Badminton Ranking Tournaments are sent by Affiliated Units of BAI. As per present system, the Players deposit the Entry Fees at the venue. We all are aware that there have been many walkovers resulting in non-payment of Entry Fees.
As per BWF norms, Badminton Association of India is being held responsible for paying Entry Fees as well as Fine of the Players.
In our State also we follow the same system i.e. the Districts are responsible for paying the Entry Fees as well as Fines for non-participation in the Tournaments after the Fixture is drawn.
I propose that we formulate the system that all Affiliated Units of BAI will be responsible for sending the Entry Fees to the Organizing States for all the Players after sending the entry through RTGS / NEFT / DD. Once the system is introduced, I am sure number of walkovers will also be less as well as the Organizing States will get the full Entry Fees.
